CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™

Kris Dureau took a unique route into the financial services industry — a route that exemplifies his passion for helping and protecting people. Kris comes from a background in emergency services and has trained extensively in assisting people in emergency situations. Combined with his training in the financial services industry, Kris has incorporated this helping-and-protecting approach into the planning he does for clients.

Serving as an independent financial advisor since 2007, Kris has had a great deal of experience in working with retirees, business owners, and families.

Kris was the second person in Canada to achieve the Certified Cashflow Specialist™ designation. He also holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and Certified Health Specialist designations. Kris has completed the Canadian Securities Course, Life License Qualification Program, and the Canadian Investment Funds Course.

Kris volunteers as an instructor for the Dollars With Sense program, which teaches grade 7 students about personal finances. He enjoys the outdoors and using the family ATV and Seadoo, playing his guitar and martial arts.

Kris and his wife, Tina, of over 15 years have three young children: Taylor, Chase, Brooklyn, and their fourth child is their rescue puppy, Beau.

He enjoys the outdoors and cottage life, attending all of his kids’ activities and sports, playing guitar and practicing martial arts with his kids.

Tina Dureau’s goal is to ensure that processes run smoothly and to help both the business and her husband, Kris, stay organized. Her prompt, personal, and thorough approach to tasks enables her to provide clients with the level of personalized service that they deserve. 
 
Tina has also worked part-time as a registered physiotherapist at a local hospital for the past 15 years. While she works in two very different industries, she enjoys them both.  
 
When Tina isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with Kris, their three active kids, and their equally active puppy.

Jana Pekarcikova

Licensed Assistant

Jana Pekarcikova provides excellent customer service, addresses client inquiries, and is highly involved in the day-to-day operations of the team. In everything she does, Jana is determined to always put the client’s needs first. 
 
Jana’s specialty is life, disability, and critical illness insurance and group benefits. She has completed the Canadian Investment Funds Course and Life License Qualification Program. 
 
Outside of work, Jana is a mother of two busy boys that occupy al lot of her free time, but she still manages to find time for gardening in her greenhouse and making homemade wine with her husband. Jana and her family love outdoors, hiking, camping, and adventures in nature.

Justin Van Dyk

Portfolio Analyst, Managed Accounts Program

Justin is a key member of Harbourfront’s Watermark Private Portfolio team. He is responsible for the day to day trading, portfolio accounting, and performance analytics, in addition to security analysis and due diligence of investment products and fund managers. Justin is a registered representative, holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with distinction from BC Institute of Technology and, is a level 3 CFA candidate.

Ian Goodman CFA

Portfolio Manager & Supervisor, Managed Accounts Program

Ian comes to Harbourfront Wealth Management from Credential Securities where he helped grow their SMA platform to over 1.3 billion in assets in just 5 years. He was a key member of the Investment Strategy Committee which was responsible for modeling portfolios for Advisors. As an accomplished speaker, CFA charter holder, and technical consultant to Portfolio Managers, Ian’s skills, 13 years of experience, and desire to help clients become better off, are a perfect fit for the culture here at Harbourfront Wealth.
